Where: Bang Saray is located approximately 20 kilometers south of Pattaya and is easily reached via the Sukhumvit Road.
Beaches: The beaches in this area are large, clean and unspoilt offering some greta views of the surrounding landscape and islands. A liitle further to the south is the pristine Sai Kaew beach. This is a particularly beautiful beach that is maintained by the Royal Thai Navy and as such there is a small admission fee. The beaches here tend to be very popular with weekend visitors from Bangkok. There are some beachside cafes on the road but some of these can be pretty basic.
Attractions and Leisure: Bang Saray itself has a very few attractions, however, there is a small park close to the beach. Also there is Bang Sarays Walking Street which is nothing like that of Pattaya. At the weekend and holidays you will find asmall fair located here. Despite this the adjacent areas to Bang Saray have a number of varying attractions nad places of interest. Very close by are two waterparks, the first being Cartoon Network and the second is the recently opened and well received Ramayana Water Park. At a totally different tempo is the beautiful tropical Nong Nooch Gardens. This is wonderfully landscapped gardens with a pavillion, cafe, shops and other entertainment including some very clever elephants. Another popular venue is the Silverlake vineyards. Here there is a beautiful landscapped park that recreates certain regions of Europe, and here you can tatse the various grapes and wines. Also located here is a fabulous Italian restaurant and this is also a popular locaton for a variety of music concerts and festivals. Close by is another spectacular location, the famous Golden Buddha mountain and Wat Yannasangvaram ( Wat Yin). On this complex you will find a museum showing Chinese art, a pagoda on the hill and several religious buildings along with some fantastic views.
Supermarkets/markets: The biggest abd busiest market in Bang Saray can be found on a Sunday in a compeletly pedestraianised street. During the week there are small bazaars offfering fresh food. The usual mini marts can also be found scattered throughout the area.
Restaurants: The majority of restaurants and cafes in Bang Saray are going to be found on or very close to the beach as are those in Ban Amphoe. As Bang Saray has started to develop we have seen the introduction of a number of differing cuisines appearing incuding Belgian, English, French, Italian as well as ther ebing an Indian restaurant too.
Sport: This is an exceptionally popular area with golfers as there are several quality courses in easy reach of Bang Saray and Pattaya . The closest course to Bang Saray is the 27 hole Phoenix Golf Course offering some great sea views.
Public Transport: The main form of public transport is the white Baht Buses that travel along the Sukhumvit Road to and from Pattaya. There are also min vans that travel this route and will always stop to pick up passengers. These are all reasonable priced but they also tend to be rather full as the do not run as frequently as those in Pattaya.
Properties: If you decide to make Bang Saray your base you would be advised to have your own transport. Properties in Bang Saray Bang Saray has a large amount of construction now underway with the devlopment of both houses and condominiums. Demand for the area is continuing to grow so purchasing a property here in Bang Saray now could turn into a good investment.
