Na Jomtien

Posted in Districts of Pattaya on 15 March 2016

Often referred to as the southern most district of Pattaya although this is strictly not correct and comes under a different municipality. This is now a rapidly developing area.

Where: Locals often call anything south of Soi Chaiapruek Na Jomtien but the official border passes in front of the Reflection condominium.

For Whom:

  • For those you love a great beach vacation.
  • For those who appreciate peace and quiet but want easy access to the city.
  • For those who wish to resell at later date for profit.

Beaches: Although the beach here is cleaner than Pattaya it is certainly much narrower. Many of the condos are situated almost directly on the beach or within 3-5minute walk. This area is also home to a number of well known and wealthy celebrities.

Attractions & Leisure: Further south opposite the Ambassador hotel an entertainment complex called Mimosa was opened for a few years ago. This is a mall built in the style of an old European town including shops, cafes, canals, statues and a transvestite show. A more recent attraction is “Love Art Park” which is a landscaped park with sculptures on the theme of relationships and human weakness. Here there is the opportunity for many amusing photos. The neighboring resorts of Amphoe Ban and Bang Sarey are a short ride away.

Supermarkets/Market In the vicinity of Mimosa there is a lot of activity with a large number of tourists in the area and this is reflected in some of the pricing of the fresh fruit and ready meals available. There area number of min marts but you will need to go to Pattaya for supermarkets and shopping malls.

Restaurants: Along the coast in this area there are a large number of Thai and seafood restaurants from the very basic to the more famous high end restaurants such as the Glasshouse or the new Bacco restaurants. Also in the area is Guilty Pleasure offering delicious desserts and cocktails.

Sport: Again this area is a great location for joggers and there is also Tony’s Gym located on the beach at Ban Amphoe.

Public Transport: On the Sukhumvit Road you will find Baht Buses which go back and forth to town. However, if you are a regular traveler into town a private vehicle would be the best option.

Property: Na Jomtien is gaining in popularity and as such prices are on the increase too. However, there is now also more choice with a number of modern condo developments being completed over the last few years.

  • Summary:
  • Advantages - beautiful beaches, opportunity to live in a luxury condo, fairly quiet and peaceful.
  • Disadvantages - Fairly high prices, distance from town
